An Easier Way to Use Emojis on MacOS
When I first began using Slack I realized how much better typing emojis could be on the computer. All you have to do in the app is type a colon, emoji name, colon (:joy: = ). On iOS I don’t have much of a problem because I can just type the word for the emoji and it brings up a suggestion. If you don’t have a space after the word it replaces it or you can put a space after the word and insert it at the end. On the computer it is not so easy. Enter Rocket.
From the website:
Rocket is a free Mac app that makes typing emoji faster and easier using Slack-style shortcuts.
Just start typing an emoji like  (
) and Rocket will help auto-complete it — in any app!
Additionally, you can choose the skin tone of your emojis and disable in certain apps or websites. He also added a booster pack with ASCII Emoticons, which include classics like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
or ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This is one of those apps that I forget is installed but it is part of my daily use on the computer.
You can download the free app here.
