Soul Care and the Problem of Evil
Perhaps, the greatest and most difficult issue for the Christian is the problem of evil. To put it another way, if God, the creator of the world and sovereign in his actions, create a world which contains so much pain, suffering, and evil. This is the great philosophical question of the Christian tradition. To add another wrench in the mix is how do we counsel those who are personally being affected by the wretched evil and suffering in the world.
My good friend, Ben Askins, has thought much about this issue and will giving a presentation followed by a discussion on September 26 for the Institute of Christian Psychology. I encourage you to attend.
